Manic Monday

Hey all today I have a piece that I have made to surprise my daughter.  She loves to doodle, draw, and write in and on everything.  So with a bit of creative deconstruction (complements of our very own BD) I have made her a book she can ink up to her hearts desire

I have some paper out of my stash that I used TH paint dabbers on to add a bit of color
Purple leather and a SMEARED INK rubber stamp
I used silver staz_on ink.

Make sure to head on over to SMEARED INK and get all of the rubber and digis your heart desires before they are all gone.

ATC using New LETTER BOX STAMPS

Sorry for the late post today....
Poor Shell, whose turn it is today is stuck in her car that refuses to take her home.
She'll add all the details about this gorgeous ATC later on tonight.
Until then you'll just have to admire the picture :)

Thank you BD for posing this for me. I had so much fun making this ATC, I started by colouring the stamp with a mix of stampin up markers and distress ink pens. I then stamped that onto some white cars, that was then layered onto some blue card with a few strips of washi tape. The rubber set I used for this was the letterbox one. There is just under a week now to get your entries in for this month.

Mine and only mine

I found this fabulous Dragon image and just had to make something with it, it's called Skull Keeper and it was so much fun to color in many different green shades and I added glitter and pearl maker for the eyes. Did some shading on the skulls too, that was fun! =)

Just found papers that matched and hopefully makes the dragon stand out a little too, so used an Asian inspired paper and a matching background paper from another kit.

So hope you will enjoy today's card and join on in the fun in our Anything Goes challenge here at Smudgy Antics! =)

Don't forget to use a Smeared Ink image on your creation! =)

Voodoo Wednesday

Hello friends!
Wow, what an amazing project by Leigh yesterday.  Beautiful-ness!
Well if you have a project with a Smeared Ink image on it, get it in this months Anything Goes Challenge.  We, the DT, love seeing those creative projects.

I love notebooks of all kinds.  So when I sat down and started stamping, it just so turned out to be a notebook.  I have used stamps from the Unmounted Rubber sets Voodoo and MorteBackground Letterbox is a Current Rubber Club Stamp set.

"Grandmaster" Altered Pencil Holder

I hope everyone is having a great week so far!  Here's my DT inspiration for you today!
I've had this very versatile Tombow "store display" marker holder in my studio for many years.  I'm calling it a pencil holder for want of a better word but I use it daily for various purposes like to stand projects in while they dry or carry some coloured pencils or markers to my desk.  I've been wanting to do 'something' to pretty it up and I finally did it, haha!    It's also the perfect compliment to my 2015 daily planner I altered earlier this year!

I used all of the stunning chess piece Smeared Ink digis called Grandmaster by Teri Sherman.

Please stop by my blog, LeighSBDesigns, for more info on my project!
I hope I've inspired you to come and play in our monthly challenges ;0)  The link to our current challenge is over there in the left side bar!

April 16th was our monthly Members Blog Hop and this month's theme was "Decorate a Real Egg".  Start your hop on my blog if you missed it coz all the creations were eggstra-special!
This is the egg sculpture I made using a real chicken egg and wish bone!

 Happy Stamping!

I love leather!

So I have been mixing it up a bit recently. And I have been loving it. Try something new and unexpected.  Believe me, it's so fun to be able to look at a new side of your creativity. I have been going crazy with stamping on leather. I have made a whole bunch out of them but you are going to have to keep checking back to see if I post one. You never know when it's going to happen.
Don't limit yourself to materials!  Use canvas, denim, cotton, anything you have. Sew it all yourself or buy it already made.  Or even better spice up something you already have around the house.  (Hu Shell) Ok so here is my fun little coin purse featuring one of the beautiful butterflies from the Specimen Jar rubber set.

See you all next week. And don't forget to get your entries in for the current challenge. Link it up and have fun.

Death...

I have made an ATC to show you as inspiration today.
Started off with tim holtz kraft resist paper that I covered in white distress stain. Then I stamped one of the images from the as death set. Made some splotches with red distress stain and blotted most of it off with a cloth. Added some letter stickers and then heat embossed the atc with super ultra fine powder.

Thank you!
And dont forget the monthly anything goes challenge.

Toxic Friday

For today's inspiration I decided to create a mixed media piece with some photoshop work thrown in for good measure. I created my background with Ink sprays and scanned into photoshop. I then coloured up the main focal image from The Toxic Ballerina Set available at Smeared Ink. Added in the Toxic Text, printed and mounted onto black mount board ready for framing.

Grumpies rule

For today's inspiration at Smudgy Antics I did some recycling! I made pizza with pinapple rings on yesterday and realized that I could use the tin for today's project.

I printed out three grumpies and three sentiments, colored the grumpies in three different colors and shaded them. Then I cut out the sentiments and found a patterned paper to use as the background.

I glued everything on the tin and it looks fun, so I'm happy with it! =)

Don't forget to be able to enter our Anything goes challenge you have to use atleast one Smeared Ink image in your project! =)

Wonderlandian Bookmarks

Happy Monday the 13th to you all!
For today's DT inspiration I'm sharing 3 Wonderlandian bookmarks in celebration of National Library week which began on Sunday!  Of course I had to represent one of my favourite books, Alice in Wonderland, and use some of my favourite Smeared Ink digis from the Wonderland set!

I have used rubber from the set Quoth the raven available as a past offering in the Smeared Ink rubber club.
Stamped on shrink plastic and added holes on both sides.

This is a really easy diy bracelet that anyone can do :)

I hope you get some inspiration from these...

Emerging with your Thursday Inspiration.

Todays Inspiration for you uses an image from Teri Sherman entitled " Emerging " I decided to create a mixed media board.  I started with  heavy 300gsm cardstock and applied various washes using DecoArt Media fluid acrylics and set aside to dry. I then coloured up the image with copics. I scanned both the image and the background into photoshop. Added my quote and then printed off and attached to the chipboard base. Corners rounded and then inked  the edges with black.

Hope this has inspired you to join with our current Anything Goes Challenge. Just remember to use a smeared ink image on your project.  Thanks for stopping by.

Love is in the air

Time to inspire you all here at Smudgy Antics with a little zentangle love!

These images are made by Leigh Snaith-Burton and are unmounted rubberstamps called Autumn's Pencil! I thought they could show the love between a mum and her baby and a spring card instead of Autumn! =)

The images are both colored with promarkers, then I added some white highlights with my white pen. The little cat is raised on 3D pillows and I added half pearls and glitter letters to the background, I also chalked the edges of the paper with a brown ink pad. The patterned papers are from a scrapbook club I used to be a member in.

Hope you will all be inspired to join in our "Anything Goes" challenge this month, just remember to use atleast one Smeared Ink image on your project to be able to join in on the fun! =)

Bunnie Buddies - altered dominoes and a card!

Happy Easter Everyone!
For today's DT inspiration I'm sharing two projects!
You've met Bunny Blue before, well he found some friends along the way.  Here they are hanging out on my Tim Holtz tin with their chickie friend ;0)

Altered domino magnets featuring Smeared Ink's Li'l Bunny Grumpie from the
The above photo was Bunny Blue's farewell party, he's off on his travels to my Sister ;0)
Here's the cute and rather clever Easter card I made her that is the perfect presentation card for a domino magnet.  What's clever about it you ask?  Well, you see the domino is rather heavy and a regular card just falls forward when you try to stand it up.  I cut the bottom edge of the back of the card at an angle so that it leans backwards like an easel when you stand it up.  No more head dives for Bunny Blue!  Pop on over to my DominoART blog if you'd like to know the 2nd clever part of the card, how to actually add the domino magnet to the front ;0)

I hope I've inspired you to come and play in our challenges!  The April one just started so there's plenty of time to join the fun - Smudgy Antics Challenge for April

Happy Stamping!
