Wednesday inspiration

Good morning...
it's Hump day again and the dragon has a project to share.
If you belong to the Smeared and Smudged group on Facebook you'll know that we are having a week long event.... KICKSTART YOUR ART.
It's all about art journalling.... something I have never been comfortable with,
I think it's the freedom... the mess.. the personal nature of art journalling that I find so difficult...
as i'm a precise crafter... I plan... I re-plan.... then I re-re-plan, so i'm finding it hard...
very hard but i am enjoying myself so you might too... please check it out on facebook... you might be a natural art journaller.
Anyhow day #2 the prompt is to
USE LYRICS FROM A SONG OR POEM.
Here is my journal page....still rather neat and precise but i'm trying!
The song is one of my favourites...
I AM I'M ME by TWISTED SISTER.
The heart and banner are digi images from SMEARED INK of cause,
the lyrics I printed off the internet..
inked, & distressed.
The heart and banner I coloured with alcohol pens and pencils.
Thanks for stopping by.
Another project from another designer tomorrow.

Sunday Inspiration

Good Morning, Today I have an altered box to show you. using the gorgeous

If you're not a member of the club it'll be a couple of months before this go on general sale...
so what better time than NOW to join the club?

I started off by covering the box with some embossed cardstock. Gave it a coat od DecoArt silver metallic paint. Once dry applied black DecoArt antiquing cream and wiped back so it sits nicely in all the nooks and crannies. This was then sealed with two coats of DecoArt media ultra matte varnish to protect. I then stamped one of the wild woman images and decided to stick with the cool grey family using my copics to achieve a monochromatic look to tie in with the box décor. I then die cut a frame and dry brushed with silver metallic paint. Appplied to the box lid with 3d foam pads and then attached the main image on top of the frame.

                                                                          Box Top.

                                                                       Side View.

                                                                    Angled View.

You still have a few days to join in with our current Anything Goes challenge.
Looking forward to seeing what you create. Thanks for visiting today. Be sure to check back tomorrow for some more Inspiration from another designer.

Saturday inspiration

I've got a bookmark to share with you today, I was helping my eldest son with some art homework, showing him how to apply paint with a pallet knife, so I ended up with a sheet of black card with red paint all over it. I figured it would come in handy so put it up to dry, when I was thinking about what I was going to make for this week I saw the piece of card and thought...this would work with a zombie. I  cut out a piece in the shape of a coffin, added one of the stamps from the Zombie pinup set along with one of the sentiments and made myself a new book mark.

You still have a few days left to join in with this months challenge, the link is just to the side there<<<<<<

Friday's Inspiration for Smudgy Antics

Today I'm posting the March/April page in my calendar, it has yet another digi by Alexandria Serrano and this one is called "For the birds".

I colored the bird girl with my promarkers, did some shading and added highlights with my new white pen. =) Been trying to use different colors for each image, as far as it goes. =) The papers are from the set that came with the calendar kit and also the sticker sentiment I added.

So come and play along with us in our Anything Goes challenge, just remember to use at least one Smeared Ink image in your creation! =)

The Premature Burial

Only 10 more days to get your projects into the Smudgy Antics Anything Goes January Challenge!

Enter your projects HERE.

For today's Smudgy Antics DT inspiration I have used Smeared Ink stamps from the Rubber Club Past Offerings sets Quoth The Raven and Morte.

"The Premature Burial" by Edgar Allan Poe.

"The unendurable oppression of the lungs - the stifling fumes from the damp earth - the clinging to the death garments - the rigid embrace of the narrow house - the blackness of the absolute Night - the silence like a sea that overwhelms the unseen but palable presence of the Conqueror Worm - these things, with the thoughts of the air and grass above..."

Check out my blog Crafty Inknik to find out more about this art journal page.

Altered box...

Hi,

I got a golden shiny box from ebay when I ordered some foundation...so I thought it was a fab idea to do a makeover on it that fits me more :)

Stamped two different stamps from the poe rubber set that I got from The Smeared Ink rubber club on silver tissue with three colors of archival ink. Added the tissue with mod podge. Painted the inside and edges with black gesso and did a mixture of americana crackle and perfect pearls powder that I added as a top coat. Did the same thing on flowers as on tissue. Also added a decorative handle...
The inside is filled with some candy brains...oh my...they were really disgusting to eat...tasted like chemicals, toxic :)

Thank you for watching my project today and please take part in our monthly challenge - anything goes Smeared Ink. You can find the link in the left hand sidebar on this blog.

Grumpie Sunday

Welcome to your daily inspiration post.
For my project I decided to use the Lil Grumpies Digi Stamp Set.
Another Image Heavy Post so bear with folks.

I decided to create a little box drawer built from scratch from chipboard that holds a little surprise within. Once the outer box and drawer  were constructed and covered with paper from my stash. I added a Tim Holz hitch fastener to the drawer front. Small dominoes glued together to make the feet and attached to the box base. I then printed out the lil grumpies I wanted to use and coloured with copics. I mounted one onto a chipboard piece and triple embossed to make a tile for the top of the box.

Side View of box

                                                                  Top View of Box.

                                                                Front View of Box.

And now for the little surprise contained within. A front cover was created in photoshop and a title added. This was then bound with the rest of the coloured images into a little mini book to sit inside the draw.  Neat Huh..................
                                                                Draw opened.

                                                                   Lil Grumpie Booklet.

Friday inspiration for Smudgy Antics

Time for the January/February page in my calendar! =) I used Horn's single digi by Alexandria Serrano for this page and some matching paper from a set that came with the calendar.

The image is colored with promarkers, added glitter pen to the beads in her hair and some high lights with a white pen. Then I chalked the edges of the image and added two different patterned papers for the background and two chipboard hearts too.

Remember that if you are joining our Anything Goes challenge you have to use an image from Smeared Ink to be able to enter, a link to the challenge is found HERE! =)

GOING BATTY?

For your Wednesday inspiration i thought I'd go batty...
this ol' dragon has always been a little batty but
today's project takes batty to the extreme.
I used real rubber stamps available from the SMEARED INK SHOP....
masks of the stamps, black ink, a drawing pencil and a white pencil.
I hope to put the step-by-step multi-mask tutorial on fb as soon as I figure out how.
(dragons are NOT very technically minded creatures!)
Hope you're being inspired by all the design team projects so far this month and that you'll enter your projects into this months ANYTHING GOES challenge.

2015 Calendar...

Yes, I´ve made a mixed media canvas background that I first used the glue gun to add some kitchen foil ( a new technique for me) to the canvas and then painted it with black gesso. It gets a similar texture as crumbled tissue but a bit harder in both feel and look. I then added some acrylic paint in green, pink and silver. On top it is a layer of heat embossing powder and then some black gesso on just the surface.
I have used only red rubber from the Smeared Ink rubber club and it is from the "winged things", "poe" and "urban decay" set and I stamped them with distress ink embossing pad and added white or pink embossing powder as you can see ;) The heart wing on the upper right is filled with white posca pen after embossing.

Very girly...lol..but I like it and I hope you do too..

Don´t forget to take part in our monthly challenge "anything goes" as long as it it a smeared ink stamp on it..digi or rubber..your choice!

Thanks!

Sunday Inspiration

Good morning and welcome to a new day of Smudgy Inspiration and my first post as part of the DT.
I will warn you now this is an image heavy post and I hope you will indulge me. I decided to create a set of ATC's and a Booklet to house them in using Teri's fabulous new Digi  image set GrandMaster. The images are based on chess pieces, but skully just how I like them. I coloured up the images with my copics, scanned them into photoshop and added them to a background created with Rick St Dennis Morte Common Grave Digital Stamp. Printed them off and attached to an ATC base cut from mountboard as I find this a much sturdier substrate than cardstock.

Front and back Covers of Booklet.

The covers were created using mountboard and the same background design applied as the ATC's. A Spellbinders die cut in black 300gsm cardstock was used to adorn the covers back and front.

Skully King Piece.

                                                             Skully Queen Piece.

Skully Bishop Piece.

                                                                   Skully Pawn Piece.

                                                                    Skully Rook Piece.

                                                                  Skully Knight Piece.

                                                                  All Six ATC'S Grouped.

Thanks for hangin in there with me. Don't forget to keep those entries coming in for this months Anything Goes Challenge over at Smeared Ink.
