2015 Calendar...

Yes, I´ve made a mixed media canvas background that I first used the glue gun to add some kitchen foil ( a new technique for me) to the canvas and then painted it with black gesso. It gets a similar texture as crumbled tissue but a bit harder in both feel and look. I then added some acrylic paint in green, pink and silver. On top it is a layer of heat embossing powder and then some black gesso on just the surface.
I have used only red rubber from the Smeared Ink rubber club and it is from the "winged things", "poe" and "urban decay" set and I stamped them with distress ink embossing pad and added white or pink embossing powder as you can see ;) The heart wing on the upper right is filled with white posca pen after embossing.

Very girly...lol..but I like it and I hope you do too..

Don´t forget to take part in our monthly challenge "anything goes" as long as it it a smeared ink stamp on it..digi or rubber..your choice!

Thanks!

POE...

Hi,

It is my turn too inspire you guys with some Smeared Ink...

I´ve made a canvas...started of with a BIG canvas that I painted so many times I can´t even remember how many...I was never satisfied with it...lucky for me I think it looks so much cooler with many layers..gives it structure and depth..
One of the layers is burlap..and lots of lots of paint..also used tissue that I stamped on and added with decoupage. around the edges there is a heavy layer of structure paste. I was not satisfied with the big canvas so I took my scissor and cut out the parts that I wanted and added the bits to a smaller canvas.

The big poe piece is digital paper from Smeared Ink called "Poe Boy Digital Paper Pack" and I printed it out on regular printer paper and added it to canvas with modpodge.
All the other poe rubber stamps is from the Smeared Ink Rubber Club and I stamped them on white tissue and added them with decoupage.
Around the edges there is tissue too but grey and I´ve used a rubber stamp from the "urban decay" set, also from the Smeared Ink Rubber Club.

I hope you don´t forget to take part in our monthly challenge...anything goes Smeared Ink :) Just add your project in the mr linky widget.

Thank you so much for taking a peek at my project today..hugs lisa.

USE TEXTURE IN YOUR PROJECT WITH SMUDGY ANTICS - week 2

Welcome back for week 2 of the fortnight challenge with Smudgy Antics!
For this challenge we want to see more than just paper, glue and ink.
We want to see TEXTURE and lots of it!

We want you guys and gals to create projects that make us want to reach through the computer screen and touch everything we see!  The more creative the better!  We love it when you guys and gals think outside of the box and make something with that extra "WOW" factor!

Of course we must address the fine print.  Although the focus of the challenge is to use TEXTURE, you must still use a stamped image (real or digi) and you must follow the rules posted on the left sidebar of the challenge blog to be in the running for a prize.  Collage sheets may be used to enhance your project, but they do NOT count as a stamped image so make sure you use a stamp of some sort in your final piece.
This is the last week to play along with the TEXTURE challenge.

Pictured below is some inspiration from the remainder
 of the Smeared Ink DT.
You may click on the individual pictures for a larger view and you can visit any of the designers' blogs by clicking on the names above the project pictures.

I highly suggest visiting the designers' blogs as you can learn tips and tricks on how each lady made her project.
Leaving a bit of love is always appreciated as well.

Now for the sad news.

SMEARED INK will be retiring 6 of their digital stamp sets as well as the singles that go with them.  Come May 20th, these digi images will be gone from the shop forever so if you'd like them you had better buy them before MAY 20th.  If you do buy them, you will save 15% off the retail cost.
Don't be too sad though.
Although you will not be able to get these images in digi form any longer after the 20th of May, you will still be able to get your hands on these totally wonderful sets in real RUBBER!  An 8.5" x 11" sheet of unmounted, deeply etched, red rubber for your stamping pleasure!
Check out the details of the SMEARED INK RUBBER CLUB.
