Smeared Ink Saturday with Lady B

Here it is!  Preview Day 2 for Smeared Ink's Halloween Release!  I, as well as some of the other DT members from yesterday's hop, will be previewing Smeared Ink's new release images over the next few days.

Today's project uses images from the "Calaveras" digi stamp set and a sentiment from the "Zombie Pinups" digi stamp set.  I colored the images digitally, but they can easily be printed out and colored or painted with the medium of your choosing.  The papers used are from Crafty Chaos Designs.

Life Flashes

Here's a little something I maded using Smeared Ink's "As Death" rubber stamp set. 

I stamped the image with versa mark onto black cardstock and heat embossed with black zing embossing powder.  I then painted the image with wet perfect pearls to end up with this cool shimmery effect.  I scanned the image to my computer and made a digital layout with papers from Crafty Chaos Designs.  The skull embellie is from Itkupilli.  I don't remember the author of the quote.

Smeared Ink Saturday and March Sketch Challenge

In today's edition of Smeared Ink Saturday with Lady B, I am contributing a project I made for the March Sketch Challenge over at the Smeared and Smudged Forum.

As you can see, I've flipped the sketch and changed the flourish a bit.  I used an awesome Misty Benson image which was made into a rubber stamp set for Smeared Ink.  The set is called "Morbidly Adorable Tarot, set 1 and the image itself is "The World".  It can be purchased at the Smeared Ink Store.

I stamped the image with Memento Ink onto Copic X-Press it blending cardstock and colored it with my copic markers.  As you can tell, I am fond of bold, bright colors.  These divine papers are from Crafty Chaos Designs.  I am in love with the rich purple and greens in this set!  They print out as nicely as you see them on screen.

This month, if you participate in any of the challenges over at the Smeared and Smudged forum, you automatically receive a free digi and will be entered into a drawing for a digital stamp set of your choice from Smeared Ink!

Short and Sweet Saturday

Lady B here with Smeared Ink Saturday.  Today's post will be short as I have a ton of things to do today.  Here is a project I started last night using the "Morbidly Adorable Tarot" set 1 featuring artwork by Misty Benson.  You can purchase this set at the shop.  I used "The High Priestess" image from this set, stamped her with Memento Ink, colored her with Copic Markers, and put together a simple card using papers from Crafty Chaos Designs.  I accented this piece with Distress Stickles.

You may not realize it, but even we DT members do not create perfect projects.  I have flaws in my projects all the time, but most do not notice the flaws other than myself, of course.  I am not a great stamper and do not always get a clear image.  If you look closely at the project above you will see areas that did not stamp perfectly.  I am also VERY SLOPPY when it comes to coloring.  This is improving as I bought some awesome cardstock that dramatically reduces any bleed from my markers.  Check out "into the dark" on the forum for a little review on this product.  Why am I telling blog land that my projects aren't perfect?  Because NO project is ever perfect.  I encourage you to try to work with your mistakes and see what you end up with.  Your marker smeared?  Make that area a shadow or rub distress ink over your project for an intentional grungy effect.  Art supplies are too expensive to toss aside a little mishap.  Playing with our mistakes increases our skills as artists.  Most of my favorite projects derived from mistakes.  Let go of your idea of perfection and let the art flow.  Let the feeling of your piece take over.  You may really like what you end up with.

Smeared Ink Saturday...In the Dungeon

Welcome back to another episode of Smeared Ink Saturday with Lady B.  Today we will be visiting a Dungeon in Chicago, IL with two of our favorite ladies from "Femdom".

The background is an actual photo fromt the LRA website.  Gotta love google!  Type in a few key words and find whatever you want.  I don't know who took the photo so I cannot give proper credit.  I'm not selling this so hopefully I am not infringing on any copywrite laws.  On top of the photo I inserted my Smeared Ink "Femdom" digis that were previously printed and colored with copic markers.  I added a few drop shadows and digi papers from Crafty Chaos Designs.

Wecolme to another addition of Smeared Ink Saturday with Lady B.  Today's post is a bit Risque.

I used two images from Smeared Ink's "Femdom" digital stamp set and colored them with copic markers.  I scanned them and added them to a cool dungeon pic I found online.  I couldn't see who made it so I can't give props. Heck, it may even be from a video game for all I know.  Anyway, the dungeon background worked perfectly with these images.  I used digi papers from Crafty Chaos Designs and typed in a sentiment.

Smeared Ink Saturday with Lady B

Welcome to Smeared Ink Saturday on Smudgy Antics.  I, Lady B, will be your host for the day.  Let me introduce you to our new DT blog. This blog was designed to feature the Smeared Ink DT projects all in one spot so our Inky Minions will be able to get their smudgy inspiration with just one click.  The awesome thing about this blog is that each day of the week is sponsored by a different DT member so everyday will be filled with awesome eye-candy for your viewing pleasure and artistic inspiration. 

Let's get on with the art! 

These awesome images were designed for Smeared Ink by Misty Benson.  Aren't they lovely?  They are so fun to color!  I stamped the images with Memento Ink and colored them with my Copic Markers.  I scanned them and uploaded them to PSE.  The background papers are from Crafty Chaos Designs. 

 In my first project, I made some matching screw embellishments.  I think I'm starting to get the hang of this photoshop thing!  In my second project I added some purple and black digi roses from one of my Itkupilli collage sheets.

As soon as I get some clay I plan on making some decorative tiles with these babies!  Since I am only featuring two of the four images in the set, here is a pic of the set in it's entirety:

The set is 8.5" x 11" of deeply etched unmounted rubber.  It can be purchased in the shop as can cling mount in the same size if desired.
